For more than 90 years the Houston Ship Channel has served the Houston and Gulf Coast Area; enhancing the local economy and providing jobs to thousands. Continually growing ever since its creation, the newest edition of the Ship Channel is the Bayport Container Terminal or simply the Bayport Terminal. Developed to help the overflow from the Barbours Cut Terminal, the Bayport Terminal is being built to be a stellar example of environmental stewardship. The Bayport exceeds all current governmental standards and helps raise the bar for future environmental protection. This new facility is a welcomed neighbor to help our economy, our environment and our community.
