FRIENDSWOOD - 77546
A community based on heritage and the faith of God, Friendswood was founded by two Quakers, Frank Jacob Brown and Thomas Hadley Lewis on July 15, 1895. As a common practice of Quakers who were moving westward in the mid to late 1800s, Friendswood, named after the religious sect, Quakers (meaning "friends"), was settled in amidst a wooded area on 1,538 acres. Incorporated in 1960, this now flourishing community is only minutes away from downtown Houston, were visitors can enjoy a wide variety of dining and entertainment for the whole family. Lying within two award winning school districts, Clear Creek ISD and Friendswood ISD, it's no wonder why families decide to make Friendswood their home.
