BACLIFF/ SAN LEON – 77518 / 77539
Roughly sixteen miles northwest of Galveston in north central Galveston County you will find the small towns of Bacliff and San Leon. Originally a campsite for the Karankawa Indians and a hideout for pirate Jean Laffite; residents now enjoy the beautiful parks, recreational and sport fields and fishing and boat docks available. The local economy is based on shrimp and oysters harvested near the Houston Ship Channel.
